In the position of Team Lead Inbound Transport, you will manage 2 Inbound Transport colleagues and will report to the Head of Supply Chain.
Inbound Logistics is responsible for arranging the transportation of stichd goods from our suppliers until delivery to one of our distribution centers. The team is connecting suppliers, forwarders and warehouses to assure an efficient and effective Inbound Logistics network for our ‘make-to-stock’ items. The team is also connecting ‘buying-till-customer’ service for the ‘make-to-order’ business.
Your responsibility scope includes overseeing and guiding the daily inbound shipments to our warehouses, as well as direct shipments to our customers worldwide. Your focus will be on managing the Inbound Transport team and managing the partnership relations with our forwarders to drive further optimization of our global network.
You will have a significant impact on our business, by working collaboratively with these transportation partners to keep our inbound logistics costs under control, while maintaining desired service-levels.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Responsible to lead, coach and develop the Inbound Transport team members;
Participate and assist in operational day-to-day work and operational meetings;
Connect with our warehouses on operations alignment and agreement;
Manage performance and partnership with forwarders, and act as the final escalation point for any overarching (Inbound Transport) issues;
Analysing and monitoring KPI’s, both internal and external, in an accurate and timely manner and report operational performance to management periodically and ad-hoc;
Develop, plan and implement improved internal procedures related to the Inbound Transport role and assure correct interpretation of agreed ways of working;
Monitor the transportation market conditions, technology and market challenges to drive value.
What is required?
Minimum HBO education level in transportation, logistics, supply chain or any related field;
Multiple years of relevant experience in Inbound Transport and preferably experience with leading (an Inbound Transport) team;
Hands-on mentality with ability to oversee and lead a team;
Problem solver, self-motivated, proactive and down-to-earth;
Strong communication skills towards internal and external stakeholders;
Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and relevant legal compliance (including import/export knowledge);
Fluent in English, any other spoken languages are a plus;
